Buses:
For crash reporting purposes, any vehicle designed to transport 9 or more persons including the driver is considered a "bus" when recorded in the FMCSA SAFETYNET database. In SAFETYNET, buses are recorded identically in both Vehicle Configuration and Cargo Body Type. Based upon a division by seating capacity, buses fit into one of two categories.

Bus (seats for 16 or more people, including driver)
