Traffic Enforcement
June 2020 – FMCSA has changed the way Traffic Enforcement inspections are counted. The methodology now includes violations in two SMS BASICS, some additional speeding violations not found in SMS, and inspection records flagged as traffic enforcements by the officer. Based on the updated criteria, the number of traffic enforcement inspections has increased for all years displayed.
This module gives data for five fiscal or calendar years of traffic enforcements on motor carriers that transport property or passengers in interstate or intrastate commerce.
