Hazardous Materials (HM) - Overview
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) primary mission is to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. Additionally, FMCSA seeks to reduce HM security risks that could potentially harm the public and environment.
The FMCSA Hazardous Materials Program develops programs to accomplish these goals.
For information regarding FMCSA’s HM goals, regulations, permits, training, or security, please visit FMCSA’s HM site at: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/safety-security/hazmat/hm-theme.htm
