III. What are the applications for A&I Online?

  3.1   Access a list of interstate carriers ranked according to their safety status
  3.2   Access a specific carrier's SafeStat results
  3.3   Access a specific carrier's safety fitness history
  3.4   Review the Crash profile of a specific state>
  3.5   Identify the carriers that are having the most crashes in a selected state

3.4 Review the Crash Profile of a Specific State

The Crash Profiles module provides Crash Profile reports for each state.  The following example shows you how to display a report for a specific state:

1. Access the Crash Profiles Online module from the Main Menu.

Access Crash Profiles Online module by selecting Crash Profiles Online from the main menu, home page buttons.

2. Click on State Profiles from the Crash Profiles module.

Access State Profiles within the Crash Profiles module from the top of page using the State Profiles button, or from within the page content area using the highlighted State Profiles link.

3. Reports for a specific state are chosen from the State Crash Reports Area. Select a state and year from the pull-down menus. Select a report from a Focus Area by clicking on the text. For example, "Vehicle Configuration" in the Vehicle Focus Area.

In the State Profiles page, select a state and year from the pull-down (combo box) menus.  Select the report 'Crashes in Profile State'.

4. This report allows you to compare the total number of vehicles involved in crashes for the Nation and the selected state for fatal and non-fatal crashes by vehicle configuration types. When the state percent is greater than or equal to 25 of the USA percent, the crash statistics for the category will be highlighted in red.

In state reports, as shown in Large Trucks Involved in Crashes by
        Vehicle Configuration, one can access results in data table or text format for all states and 7 years of data.
