3.1 Access a list of
the interstate carriers ranked according to their safety status
The SafeStat Online module
allows the user to specify criteria to generate a list of carriers in ranked order of
safety. The list can be generated for all carriers in the nation, carriers of a specified
state, or service center. The following example illustrates how to access a list of the
highest ranked carriers in the nation in terms of safety fitness.
1. Access the SafeStat Online Module from the Main Menu.

2. Click on Carrier Detail Results from the SafeStat Module.

3. In the Carrier
Detail Results: Selection Form select the tab for "Advanced Search."

4. Click on a radio
button option to select a carrier location, then click on a radio button
option to refine the list of carriers, and finally select a
radio button option for ordering the results. Click the Search button.

5. The result is a list of
carriers sorted by Safety fitness (or SafeStat score). You can select the carrier
name (underlined) to drill-down to the Carrier Overview screen where you can
drill-down further to access a carrier's detail SafeStat results in the Accident SEA
(Safety Evaluation Area), Vehicle SEA, Driver SEA, or Safety Management SEA.

Note:
To refine the search from Step 4, the list of carriers ranked by safety status can be generated for carriers domiciled in a specific
US state, a specific service center, or a state outside the U.S. (e.g., Mexican states or
Canadian provinces) by specifying different criteria in Step 4. There are over 40
different combinations you can select to access the SafeStat results. The example provided
below shows you how a user can access only carriers from Mexican States with a Driver SEA.
- Access the SafeStat
Online Module from the Main Menu.
- Click on Carrier
Detail Results from the SafeStat Module.
- Select the Advanced Search
tab.
- Click on the radio
button labeled "Outside U.S." and select "All Mexican States" from the pull down menu.
Then click on the radio button labeled "Specific SEA Value" and select "Driver SEA" from the
pull down menu. Finally click on the radio button labeled "Category/National Rank" to sort the list by safety status. Click the Search
button.
- The result is a list of
carriers sorted by Driver SEA Value (in descending order). You can select the carrier
name (underlined) to drill-down to the Carrier Overview screen where you can
drill-down further to access a carrier's detail SafeStat results in the Accident SEA
(Safety Evaluation Area), Vehicle SEA, Driver SEA, or Safety Management SEA.
