This form has a search and an advanced search capability to search for a motor carrier's SafeStat results.
The search is used to find a specific carrier by entering a U.S. DOT number, Motor Carrier number or by entering a carrier name.
The advanced search generates a list of motor carriers based upon specific search criteria. Below are detailed descriptions of each search capability.

Helpful Hints to Accelerate the Carrier Search |
|
- The fastest, most efficient way to generate SafeStat carrier results is to enter a U.S. DOT #. If the U.S. DOT # is unknown,
enter a carrier name and choose a location to speed up the carrier search.
- When entering the carrier name, the system will search the carrier list for any matches. A match may not be found if the carrier name entered
does not match the carrier's registered name exactly. Attempt the search using a unique part of the carrier name.
- Spelling is important when entering the carrier name. If you do not have the correct spelling, attempt the search using a unique part of the name.
- When entering a carrier name with initials or an acronym within the title, do not use periods to separate the letters.
Periods or other punctuation marks are not recorded in the database and your selection will not be located.
- Example 1:
Motor Carrier Name: Grant Dowdell*
Located in: Colorado
Ideal Search Method: Enter "Grant" in the carrier name text box since this is the most unique part of the carrier name.
Select "Colorado" from the state pull-down menu.
- Example 2:
Motor Carrier Name: A & J MACKENZIE BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION LTD*
Located in: ?
Ideal Search Method: Enter "A & J MAC" in the carrier name text box without periods separating the acronym.
Do not attempt to use the entire name in the first search attempt. If this attempt is unsuccessful,
try another part of the name like "MACKENZIE". (Please note that upper or lowercase does not affect the search.)
