Traffic Enforcement Activity Summary

The "Traffic Enforcement Activity Summary" report presents a summary of Traffic Enforcement Activity as compared to the total number of Roadside Inspections, along with the number and percentage of OOS Inspections that resulted from Traffic Enforcement stops. This activity is presented for the three most recent calendar years.
Column Headings
  • Number - The total number of roadside or traffic enforcement inspections per year.
  • Percent - The percentage of roadside inspections that were traffic enforcement inspections and the percentages of traffic enforcement inspections that resulted in driver or vehicle OOS orders per year.
The Traffic Enforcement program is based on the enforcement of nineteen moving and non-moving driver violations, which are included in the driver violation portion of the roadside-inspection procedures. Only those traffic enforcements that initiate a subsequent roadside inspection are included in the MCSAP program. If a roadside inspection results in only a Drug or Alcohol Related violation then it is excluded as a Traffic Enforcement Type Inspection
