There is no central collection of commercial driver safety performance and regulatory compliance

What is Driver Information Resource (DIR)?
	- Web-based lookup capability that provides easy access to individual CMV driver’s crash and inspection history 
	- Contains event data on ~3.6 million CMV drivers
		- Monthly update with new snapshot of FMCSA MCMIS data
	- Provides search capabilities and analytical capabilities
	- Available to FMCSA field and state enforcement personnel

Where does DIR data come from?
MCMIS (Crash Records, Driver Inspection Records, Vehicle Inspection Records) --> Basic data cleanup, perform matching algorithms, consolidate records to create driver histories --> Driver Event Database
